PEP recently caught up with Dr Wayne Kampers and asked him how he defines happiness

Dr Wayne Kampers is a Private Consultant Psychiatrist at The Priory Hospital, Roehampton, and has a busy Harley Street Private Practice in Central London and is considered one of the best professionals in his field.

"THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THE BEST OF EVERYTHING - THEY JUST MAKE THE BEST OF EVERYTHING"

"Happiness should be living your best-lived life - in the present.

A 'best-lived life', is, however a life by design and you have to be the designer. Being happy is a conscious effort dependent on the quality of your thoughts - but remember this, what we think we become. Being authentic, grateful and kind are key ingredients. You are responsible for your own happiness - if you rely on others you will always be disappointed. The happiest people don't have the best of everything - they just make the best of everything. Happiness starts with you - not with your relationships, not with your job and not with your money or possessions, but with you. So make peace with the past, look forward to the future without anxious dependence, free your mind from hatred and worry, live simply, give more and expect less. Life is always better when you're laughing."
